More and more people, adults, teenagers, and children are turning to orthodontic treatment, which improves aesthetics, your smile, and corrects functional problems such as malocclusion. It is through orthodontic braces, that we will take care of your smile as well as your bite.

Braces have evolved a great deal over the past 20 years to become smaller and more comfortable, while allowing the freedom of personal expression. The function of a brace is simply to act as a handle on the tooth that is being moved. It does not cause the tooth to be moved, the orthodontic wire that connects to the braces serves of the “motor” that moves the tooth by way of the brace.

Orthodontic appliances with metal braces are undoubtedly the first orthodontic treatments developed and are still widely used today, proof of their effectiveness. Since their invention, orthodontic appliances based on braces have however evolved a lot: The braces have become thinner, they can be in porcelain, making them almost invisible and above all much more comfortable for patients.

Metallic wires have also evolved a lot: flexible when cold, they slowly return to their original shape when exposed to body heat. The result is a wire that increases the tension on the teeth slowly after placement, making them much more comfortable.

There are many types of braces. The choice of brace to be used on each patient belongs to the patient! No matter what your choice is, you have the option of choosing “colored o-rings” which securely hold the wire into the brace. Patients love to be expressive with their “colors” and really enjoy changing these at each appointment.

None of the braces that we use have been found to be allergenic, meaning that they aren’t likely at all to cause an allergic reaction in the mouth. Even patients who have known nickel allergies routinely wear braces without an issue! And all of the braces that we use are brand new and sterilized prior to applying them to your teeth!

Your doctor will place them, with the help of our certified orthodontic assistant, in the proper position to assure accurate movement of your teeth according to YOUR specialized treatment plan.

The price of orthodontic treatment will depend on several factors, some related to the devices themselves, are they invisible? is it a lingual appliance? and others depending on your teeth, how long for your treatment? what difficulty to obtain the desired result?

As of January 1, 2022 our orthodontist will take care of you and your children aged 6 and older.
